Drumming Events Update

Posted: 17 August 2009

Hello everyone,

By now I’m sure you’re all well and truely back into the swing of things of semester.

We have been having excellent turnout out rehearsals so far this semester, with lots of new and enthusiastic members. Hopefully everyone can continue coming along every week, it makes rehearsals especially fun when there are lots of people there.
For those of you who haven’t been lately, we have been mainly focusing on “Peanuts and Cashewnuts” and “Tokwei” over the last few weeks, including learning the Tokwei dance last week. It is starting to really sound (and look) really good!

The club had a stall at Open Day yesterday (Sunday 16th) and received a lot of positive feedback. Despite the freezing weather, the day provided excellent exposure for the club, we even received some performance requests! Thank you to everyone who helped out with the stall, it looked really wonderful.

We will be performing as part of Festival of Nations on Tuesday 1st September around lunch time (some time between 12pm and 3pm). When exact times are known we will let you know, but if possible please try and keep this time clear so that you can come and perform with us.

Our next rehearsal will be on Wednesday night (19th), meeting under the big tree near Deep Dish Cafe at 5:15pm as per usual. Hopefully you are all able to make it. Don’t forget that we will be heading to the Moroccan Soup Bar for dinner straight after rehearsal too.

See you on Wednesday,
Megan
